Alias:
Baymax, Bay, the walking marshmallow, balloon man...
Age:
Baymax is a robot. He cannot age. At least, not in the biological sense. His hardware and software can age over time, become less efficient at assessing everyone's healthcare needs. But, as long as he can receive constant upkeep and maintenance, this robot is virtually immortal.
Alignment:
Baymax cares. Cares, for the sick and injured. Whether those sick and injured land on the side of good, or evil, matters little in the hyperspectral cameras of this nursebot. Just as long as mayhem and destruction isn't being caused by an individual, just as long as the said individual isn't harming others, he can get along well with just about anyone.
Creator, Creation:
Tadashi Hamada wanted to help a lot of people. Wanted to revolutionize the health care industry and pave the way for a safer, better world. Baymax, was his answer to the unsolvable equation. His vision, his gift to the world. A portable hospital, with the capacity to travel into the most exotic, most wild of locations. With the capacity, to heal, the sick and injured of nations far and wide. Baymax was to be a friend, a guide, a healthcare companion to all. There were to be hundreds of these nursebots, these vinyl caregivers, employed within hospitals across the globe. But instead, only one had ever been built. Only one had ever been deployed. One, however, was enough. Baymax was enough.
Programming:
To summon, simply articulate a sound of distress. To have the nursebot deactivate, simply state, "I am satisfied with my care." These, are key aspects of Baymax's initial programming, initial code. He is a healthcare robot, and as such, he is highly intelligent in the world of medics, devoted, and extremely caring for his patients. Even so, he is slightly naive, as he initially lacks understanding of human emotion, only being concerned with two things. His patient, and providing excellent healthcare to the best of his ability. The nursebot's programming, comes from his health care chip, a storage drive that contains all of his personality, and memories. Once installed, Baymax is the medical machine he was designed to to become. However, other chips installed can also affect him greatly, such as the combat chip that gave Baymax several karate moves. but also sent him into a violent rampage without the presence of his original chip.
Baymax is rather calm in dangerous situations and takes his time thinking of ways out of even the simplest of situations. He is also very curious of his surroundings and tends to get easily distracted. During his time with Hiro, Baymax saw the boy as a patient and would often follow whatever he would suggest, when believing it would improve his health. However, as he grew close to Hiro, he no longer followed every order or command, especially after growing to realize that this would not help Hiro, and that Tadashi wouldn't approve. He had moved on from his initial programming.
Though Baymax slowly gains a personality of his own, one definite part of his programming he decided to stick with, aside from his role as a healthcare companion, was his vow to never harm a human being. This would go on to shape the foundation of the Big Hero 6 moral code, as violence isn't always the answer.
Upgrades:
According to Tadashi, Baymax was programmed with considerably impressive strength, and the ability to store a massive amount of data, making him highly intelligent in several fields. He is also equipped with a plethora of medical procedures and equipment, such as defibrillators equipped within his hands, and a bacitracin spray. However, his vinyl build made him rather vulnerable in harsh situations, resulting in Hiro creating a special battle suit, to utilize the healthcare robot in defeating sinister villains about the city of San Fransokyo. The first suit was equipped with Ninja-esque skills downloaded from one of the boy genius' tai-chi videos, enabling Baymax with karate action.
Baymax's true powers, however, lied within his "2.0" version. The massive, red battle suit enabled Baymax with incredible strength, flight, and a scanning system within his helmet; giving him the ability to track and find anyone using only their medical information, such as body temperature and heart rate. Baymax was also given rocket-fists that, when unleash, can cause an intense amount of damage. The back of Baymax's armor was also equipped with magmatic extensions, allowing Hiro to safely ride atop the robot's back (when wearing his own armor) without the fear of falling.
Primary Patients:
Although the nursebot was programmed for widespread healthcare distribution, the combined forces of one, were simply not what the world was looking for. Baymax found himself better suited, serving one patient at a time, a few, at a time, rather than setting unrealistic goals that he could never possibly meet. He focuses his attention on
, the younger, and often times, more impulsive brother, of his creator. With Tadashi's untimely passing, he worked to heal his mind and body, helped the boy genius through the grieving process. Ultimately, it proved successful, and over the course of their adventure, they build a bond that few would believe possible for an A.I. to achieve.
Of course, any friend of his creator, was a friend to him.

all proved to be excellent choices for the robot to nurture, to bond with, over the course of his evolution.
